Congratulations on a successful thesis defense, Jens Heumann!

On Monday, Jens Heumann successfully defended his Doctoral Thesis, which explores how social experiences during adolescence, particularly peer victimization, affect stress regulation and health outcomes in young adulthood. Congratulations, Jens!

Jens Heumann, former PhD candidate at the Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development, has completed his dissertation on November 24, 2025.

The title of his PhD thesis is: 

Social Regulation of the Human Stress Response: Adolescent Peer Victimization and Young Adults’ Health

His advisor was Prof. Michael Shanahan
