The Swiss Job Market Monitor (SJMM) demonstrates with its interdisciplinary work how to turn online job advertisements into a scientific-use file. The data set is representative of a national job market, comparable across long periods (from 1950 onwards), and provides exact and transparent information on data collection and information extraction (IE). Moreover, it is freely available as scientific use file (SUF) stored in a public data repository (SWISSUbase, 2022: https://www.swissubase.ch/).
