Prof. Dr. Marc Szydlik, born in 1965, has been a full professor of sociology at the University of Zurich since 2004. He previously worked at the German Institute for Economic Research, the Max-Planck-Institute for Human Development, the Free University of Berlin and the University of Erfurt. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard, Columbia, Oxford, Stanford and Cambridge Universities. Main research areas: social stratification, life course, labour, generations, empirical research. Marc Szydlik directs the research group «LAbour, Generation, Stratification» (AGES).
