Alessandra Stampi-Bombelli has been working as a postdoctoral research assistant under the Chair of Prof. Dr. Giuseppe Pietrantuono at the Department of Sociology since 2025. Previously, she was a doctoral student at the ETH Center for Law & Economics, where she defended her thesis in January 2025. Prior to that, she obtained her M.Sc. in Economics from HEC Lausanne.
Her work focuses on two main topics: first, on using computational linguistic methods to capture attitudes towards minority groups and ingroup-outgroup bias in language and, second, a focus on naturalization and integration and policies which can lower barriers to naturalization. A project on naturalization that she previously worked on was nominated for the Eurocities prize in 2024.
Originally from Rome, Alessandra was born and grew up in Boston, US. She is fluent in Italian, English, and French. Her interests include learning languages, traveling and reading.
