Jingying Wang is a PhD student in the SNSF research project “Labour Markets as Emergent Mobility Networks” under the Chair of Prof. Per Block, starting from September 2023. Jingying completed an MSc degree with Distinction at the University of Edinburgh in Social Research, specialising in social science research methods. Her main research interests are occupational mobility, social stratification and advanced statistical modelling. Jingying’s first doctoral project unpacks the structuring power of occupations on partner choices and its impact on household inequality with social network analysis. She currently works on the education-based differences in individuals’ occupational trajectories, analysing patterns within sequences.
From January 2025 to June 2025, Jingying is joining Nuffield College at the University of Oxford as a Junior Visiting Scholar.
