Patrick Ziltener, Prof. Dr. phil., born 1967, has been a private lecturer in sociology since 2008. From 1994 to 2000 he was an assistant at the SUZ Chair of Prof. Bornschier, from 2000 to 2002 at the Max-Planck-Institut für Gesellschaftsforschung (MPIfG) in Cologne and from 2003 to 2005 on a research fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation in East and Southeast Asia. From 2006 to 2009 he was a scient. From 2006 to 2009 he was a research associate at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). His teaching and research focuses on economic, political and development sociology, globalization/transnationalization and the sociology of world society.
