Since November 2024, Lea Jordan has been a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Sociology and part of the sub-project "Human Reproduction in Societies and Markets" within the framework of the URPP "Human Reproduction Reloaded." Her PhD is supervised by Dr. Benita Combet and Prof. Dr. Marco Giesselmann.
Lea studied psychology with a focus on social psychology research at Radboud University Nijmegen and the University of Amsterdam.
Her research interests lie in social, cultural, and political psychology, particularly concerning gender-based career choices. She is interested in how socialized values influence interest in traditionally female-dominated care professions as well as male-dominated STEM professions.
In her PhD project, Lea will examine the occupational gender gap and explore how fertility intentions shape preferences for specific job characteristics.
