We are delighted to welcome Sarah Berkinshaw, our newest doctoral candidate in the sub-project of the URPP Human Reproduction Reloaded called «Human Reproduction in Societies and Markets».

In her dissertation, Sarah is investigating the causes of gender segregation in academic subjects and subsequent career choices. In particular, she examines how preferences for certain subjects and professions are shaped by values and role perceptions that have developed through social background and gender-specific socialization.
