Research Group Labour, Generation, Stratification (AGES)

The Research Group LAbour, Generation, Stratification (AGES) was founded in 2005 at the University of Zurich. We focus on employment and labour markets, genera­tions in family and society, social stratification and social inequality, age(ing) and life courses as well as welfare states and international comparisons. Connections between these research fields are especially important to us.

Analyses of life courses and social stratification provide us with a general frame­work. Within this context we are especially interested in the sociology of labour and family, and we conduct comparative theory-driven empirical research.

In addition, we offer lectures, tutorials, seminars and research seminars in these subject areas.
