Giuseppe Pietrantuono is an Assistant Professor at the University of Zurich, supported by an SNSF Starting Grant for the project “Causes, Contexts, Consequences: Understanding Immigrant Integration through Citizenship.” His research focuses on how migration policy can foster or hinder integration, particularly through citizenship. Before joining UZH, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Freie Universität Berlin’s Institute of Sociology and held positions at the University of Göttingen (as a Post-Doc and Visiting Professor) and the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). He earned his PhD from the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim and was a visiting scholar at both the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB) and the London School of Economics (LSE).
