Paul Götz is a doctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology, University of Zurich. His research interests include economic, social, and cultural history, economic sociology, consumption, food, hard-to-quantify phenomena, and text-as-data approaches.

In his dissertation, he constructs datasets of historical European culinary culture using large language models and explores them to address historical questions.
