Sarah Bütikofer is a political scientist specialising in Swiss politics. Her research projects revolve around Swiss politics and society, parliamentary research, Swiss political parties and political actors with a focus on members of parliament.

She studied political science at the University of Zurich and at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and completed her doctorate at the University of Zurich in 2011 with a thesis on the Swiss parliament. In 2013, she obtained a CAS in Science Journalism at the Swiss School of Journalism (maz).

Sarah Bütikofer is the editor of the online platform DeFacto of the Swiss Political Science Association, a lecturer at various universities in Switzerland and a senior research associate at the University of Zurich.
